We Love The Classics: PONDS Cold Cream

We Love The Classics: PONDS Cold Cream

As early as I can remember, my Grandmother always had a white, glass jar of Ponds Cold Cream on her bathroom sink. She used it every night to remove her makeup and every morning in the shower to moisturize her skin. I didn’t understand the magic then. I liked to play with the jar, and I remember thinking it was funny that it was called “cold cream” and it actually felt cold. Little did I know, this would become another gem of wisdom from my grandmother.

It’s now a must-have on my bathroom sink, and I hear it’s regaining popularity.
Since it’s launch in 1905, Ponds cold cream been a beauty essential, endorsed by European queens, princesses, and American socialites. In the 1950’s Lucile Ball used cold cream to capture the first laughs on “I LOVE LUCY”.

This wonder is good for both oily skin and dry skin. It cleans your pores, takes off make-up, and power moisturizes your skin - a multi-tasking master. And you know what moisture means…less dry skin…less wrinkles. That’s good.

The best part: it’s cheap. With all of the $200 jars of creams and serums out there, my wallet is happy to welcome back an old drugstore favorite and my skin has never looked better. Thanks Grandma. You still look gorgeous.

Ponds is one of the best cold cream of the world. Used all over the world. It is also useful for reducing the sunburning on skin affected by different pigmentation problems like Vitiligo and other skin disorder which causes sunburn.

I have to totally agree with you. Pond's Cold Cream is one I grew up with too and I always seem to go back to it.

Yeah, Pond's Cold Cream is a classic and just goes to prove, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" It's a very straight-forward and simple formulation, but it does what it is intended to do, remove make-up. It's a water-in-mineral oil emulsion formed from the reaction of beeswax with sodium borate, a very tight, stable and 50+ year old type of emulsion.

Ooh, I love the cold cream. I actually use the generic stuff--not Ponds--and it's really great. It's totally cleansing and moisturizing--my skin used to be flaky, but it now glows. I don't even let soap touch my face anymore. I just exfoliate with St. Ives Apricot Scrub(another great classic) and use cold cream. I recommend it to everyone, especially those with dry skin.

I absolutely love cold cream..I use it to take off my makeup, but it is also a really good moisturizer. I've been using it forever..it does the trick, so I see no need to spend a lot of money on all that fancy stuff.

I have to say that I just started using Ponds recently & at first I thought it was messy and greasy & I was about to chuck the jar. But, then I read a few reviews & started using a hot washcloth with it and now i LOVE it. I put it on in the shower in the morning with the steam too & let is soak in. It truly is an amazing make-up remover, especially on mascara and it is super moisturizing too. I am now a complete convert!

I also love the wonderful old fashion scent of Ponds. Just don't tell me my grandmother's Jean Nate is regaining popularity.

Everything old is new again! I just purchased two jars of cold cream at my local Walgreens. Buy one get one free! I used the cold cream years ago but I can't remember if I liked it or not, so I decided I would try it again. So, I will use this tonight to remove my makeup and post back later to let you all know the results. About that Jean Nate, I purchased some not long ago!

I love how Ponds makes my skin feel. I've noticed that my skin is more even toned since I have been using the Ponds. Anyone with facial redness should really give Ponds a try. I should have been using Ponds years ago.
