Rachel Goodwin's 2008 Beauty Resolutions

The Holidays were fun, but now it's time to get back to work...not just on our financial desires, but on our self growth, too. Like many, I always love to ask my friends about their New Year's resolutions, and when your friends are makeup artists, hairstylists, and skin gurus....you know you are going to hear some informative and inspiring resolutions.
This week, I chatted with the adorable and talented Rachel Goodwin...the girl that every girl in Hollywood wants to work with. Hearing Rachel's New Year's resolutions is making me want to change mine up a bit...I'm sure you will be inspired, too.
Here is what she wrote in:
"#1 Take borage oil regularly. This amazing oil, along with Flax and Evening Primrose, cares for skin from the inside. It's a great way to keep your skin hydrated and supple and can even help with serious skin conditions like eczema. I plan to make it a part of my daily supplements from now on.
#2 Eat REAL food. I believe that true beauty comes from the inside, so this year I am adhering to an old/new idea about the way I eat. Thanks to Michael Pollan and his incredible book "In Defense of Food," I'm now thinking differently about what I eat and living by his motto, "Eat food, not too much, mostly plants."
#3 Spending time once a week at the Korean spa with my girlfriends. Not only is it great to get to sweat it all out in the lava rock steam room, but laying on heated jade floors hashing out the weeks highs and lows is good for both my skin and my spirit.
#4 Any one who knows me knows that I am a HUGE fan of fragrance and the noses who create them. One of my biggest dreams for 2008 is to have a scent designed for me by Douglas Little. I just love his sensibility as well as his eye for detail and it's been a dream of mine for years.
#5 SIMPLIFY! I am a HUGE beauty junkie who spent the last few weeks of 2007 sorting through all my beauty products and pairing them way down. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
This year I am going to be more honest with myself about what I will actually use. Both on myself and in my kit, and stop hanging on to a random products just because they may come in handy someday.
#6 Learn how to make my own lipsticks. Like every woman I'm always looking for that ever elusive perfect shade which of course doesn't seem to be out there anywhere. I think it might just be time for me
to learn how to make my own.
#7 Wear suncreen on the back of my hands. I'm religious about wearing sunblock on my face everyday but often neglect my hands. The hands are one of the first parts of the body to show signs of age so keeping them protected from sun damage is essential.
