    Paul Starr's Faves For Spring

    Paul Starr's Faves For Spring

We called upon our dear friend, Celebrity Makeup artist Paul Starr to give us the inside scoop on what he is most excited for this Spring in life and in beauty. Paul was more than happy to have a little afternoon chat with us on all things Spring.

Paul tells us he is very hopeful and excited for the Writers strike to reach a conclusion. He hopes that an agreement can be made pronto, so the Awards Season can be celebrated in full swing this year. There are so many talented people who should be appreciated. Paul also mentions how he is thrilled to be working with Mariah Carey as she completes her newest record.

Now, on to Paul's SPRING BEAUTY Forecast:

    SKINCARE:
Paul is anxiously awaiting the arrival of Chanel's Sublimage Serum - out this February - from his all-time favorite Chanel (anti-aging) Skincare line: Sublimage. He was lucky enough to receive the magic serum months before its launch and tells us that it's perfect for tightening the skin and creating a beautiful glow. "The serum, made with a rare Vanilla Planifolia plant from Madagascar, combats wrinkles, loss of firmness and uneven pigmentation. It has twice the concentration of Chanel Sublimage anti-aging cream."

Paul also recommends Tracie Martyn's Amla Purifying Cleanser. "The Skin Clarifying Concentrate...deeply cleanses and gently exfoliates the skin; "washing away" fine lines and wrinkles while calming and reducing redness. Antibacterial extracts and botanical enzymes purify and resurface leaving skin clean, silky and smooth."

    FACE:
Paul is very excited to see "the MATTE face" in the coming months. He recommends Chanel's Mat Lumière Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup or Chanel's Double Perfection Compact - Matte Reflecting Powder Makeup. Both foundations are long-lasting...perfect for those long days, when you don't have time for quick touch-ups. Paul uses these foundations on his celebrity clients for movie premieres and parties. He also suggests mixing a serum (like the Chanel Sublimage Serum) with the foundation to create a radiant, matte complexion.

    LIPS:
Paul is in love with sheer lipstick and and a stained pout. He says we should be ready to see more color on lips this Spring. Paul recommends Georgio Armani Sheer Lipstick. It's simply the best. He also likes Chanel's Aqualumiere Sheer Colour Lipstick. The wonderful thing about sheer lipstick is that it creates a transparent wash of color, without being too drying. Sheer lipstick enhances the natural shade of your lips and creates a sheer coat of color that is not glossy.

    BROWS / EYES / CHEEKS:
Cheeks will be flushed and rosy. Brows should be properly groomed. Prepare for soft nude, neutral and pale shades for eye shadows. Paul is enthusiastic about Neutrogena's Healthy Volume Mascara, which contains olive oil that is great for conditioning your lashes. And it is said that the mascara "builds lash volume by 400%."

Paul also wanted to give a warm shout out to one of his favorite jewelry designer's Helen Ficalora, who recently custom designed a gold rectangle signet ring for Paul. Paul receives compliments on his ring everywhere he goes, he tells us. People are just dying to know where he got it! Well, Helen Ficalora makes many gorgeous pieces. Helen informs us that the Structure and Element Collections are the most unisex of her ring bands and they are worn by both men and women. Currently, Helen is working on a men's collection that she is preparing to launch shortly. Make sure to check out the beautiful jewelry online or you can also visit her boutiques in Beverly Hills and NYC.

    Its funny that he mentioned

    by sarahPUFFY - Jan 23 2008 - 9:54pm
Its funny that he mentioned all of those things - because that's basically my look for school everyday! a nude, neutral eye; matte skin; and a rosy lip with a nice, bright blusher. I always use a stick blusher, because its easy to apply for those rush days, and give a great natural glow.

also, I'm on the hunt for a new foundation, so I'll be looking into finding something similar to the chanel! I may just go on the cheap and get myself some CoverGirl, haha. thanks for this post! I'm so referencing in my blog. http://thepuffreports.blogspot.com/
