Our Faves for Wind Kissed Cheeks

Our Faves for Wind Kissed Cheeks

A Shimmering Contour and A Pop of Color for that Winter Perfect Flush.

    Get Cheeky.

I’m not sure what happened. Last week it felt like Summer, then in a snap, winter was here. Now I know it’s not exactly frosty out there, but when it’s time to pull out the cashmere and scarves, you know the Big Chill is just around the corner.

One of my favorite things about Winter are the gorgeous “Wind Kissed” cheeks on the lovely girls about town. You know what I mean…that illuminated cherry-pop glow that you get when you are outside in the cold. It’s youthful, fresh, and very cute…a perfect fireside look, for when it’s time to snuggle up and get warm with your beau.

The best way to achieve a natural “Wind Kissed” look is by using a cream or gel cheek product in a vibrant or deeper shade than you would normally wear. Adding a creamy shimmer on the top of the cheekbone and a creamy contour (in a shade darker than your skintone) in the hallows of your cheek, will make that apple pop.

Rub these colors on with the applicator or your fingers, and don’t worry about applying it too perfectly. Smooth on the creams or gel and let them be…the look should be natural and carefree…not overly sculpted or polished. The cream and gel products lets your skin come thru while making you look lit-from–within.

Here are some of our favorite “Wind Kissed” cheek products.

    1. Becca Cream Blush: One of our longtime favorites. This long-lasting color melts into your skin creating a healthy, radiant glow. Check out Geranium for a fresh, Winter pink.

    2. Benefit Sheer Cream Blusher: Gives cheeks a perky pinch of color while drying down to a silky powder finish. Try Sheer Rose.

    3. Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lip & Cheeks: A creamy blush perfect for finger application…provides a sheer, stained finish. Check out Chocolate Cherry, a deep winter red.

    4. Chantecaille Aquablush: The water based, gel stick creates the dewiest, glowing skin. These stick are perfect for contouring. Try Frivolous as a contour and Darling on the apples.

    5. Laura Geller Cheek Sweeps (in Primrose Pop): Stroke over cheekbones and blend for a fresh flush of color.

    6. DuWop Bronzerush: Apply the sheer poppy red gel blush to the apples of your cheeks, then dust on the golden metallic bronze powder over for a warm, festive glow.

    7. NARS Cream Blush: Moisture-rich cream finish formula that provides smooth, silky color for naturally luminous skin.

    8. Kevin Aucoin Creamy Moist Glow: A quench of color for the cheeks that blends seamlessly into the skin. Try Liquidfuscia...it looks scary bright in the pot, but it sheers out beautifully on the skin, creating a cheery radiance. Gorgeous on light and dark complexions.

    9. Tarte Natural Beauty Cheek Stain: This sheer berry flush gives cheeks just a hint of tint naturally, by employing pigments derived from fruit and pure minerals.

    10. Guerlain Divinora Bubble Blush: Bubble Blush is very easy to apply using the fingertips to create a velvety finish - like a second skin.

What a good analysis of "Kissed cheeks." In addition, I think that Smashbox O Glow should be added to the list. Thanks! http://thehautedawg.blogspot.com/

crud. I'm gone for another few days and once again, I almost miss posts! Puffy loves a good creme blusher, and my pick for newbies is Mark's sheer tint blusher sticks - they start SUPER light and add just the right amount of flush! :]
