Love it or Leave it: Rihanna's Tattoo Heart Collection Gucci Ads

Love it or Leave it: Rihanna's Tattoo Heart Collection Gucci Ads
I miss Tom Ford.

First off, let me make this statement - any efforts that benefit a great organization like UNICEF are wonderful. 25% of the proceeds from the sales of the “Tattoo Heart Collection will go toward efforts to help Africa. So, “Good on you, Gucci.” I hope that was enough not to get attacked.

Now, let’s really discuss what’s happening here. You all know, I like Rihanna as much as another other beauty-loving boy, but I have to say - I’m a bit bored of it all, and these ads, for all the fuss that has been made, just aren’t that exciting to me. Have you seen the commercial? Even Rihanna herself looked bored. Love her look? Eh.

Now onto the bags...Eew. I’ve had just about enough True Religion / Rock-N-Republic / Ed Hardy crap I can deal with. Why are these bags so fugly? I’m embarrassed for the house. Tom Ford is shivering in his body hugging black suit…his legacy is crumbling.

And while I’m at it…ahem…I think I’ve see this all before…In fact, as recently as last year. “Hmmm. Scarlett on a rope was really cool. Let’s put Rihanna on a hoop! Totally different!” Tisk, tisk Frida….tisk, tisk.

Am I crazy? Does anybody like this? Please let me know - so I can tell you, you are crazy.

...I've liked and have been wearing Ed Hardy & Tattoo themed clothing before it was the "in" thing...now I want to burn my entire wardrobe. To benefit Unicef; what a wonderful idea. However, Gucci is a quite a bit late on the whole "tattoo" trend. I totally agree Tom Ford must be cringing -- he was the best thing that ever happened to the House of Gucci!

Oh silly silly fugly bags and boring adds and your right Scarlett on a rope is fantastic but Rihanna on a hoop that's just not the same thing (at all). What's next, Jessica Simpson as a trapeze artist, Taylor Swift on a trampoline. . someone better see this circus act for what it is before everyone begins to look like clowns.

Ben's back with a vengence! Bahaha. But honestly, whatever they used on those bags could have been made for uhm, I dunno...cute shoes? A puppy sized leather jacket? Anything but those damn bags.

I really loved ScarJo's ad...shit, at least it was unique. The hoop bit actually reminds me a little bit of her Umbrella vid, oddly enough...

I really see where you are coming from Ben. Rihanna looks GREAT actually, but the whole concept does come off as bland (especially in the commercial), and yes I was dissapointed that THIS was the bag design in which the proceeds would be going to charity. I think they really could have come up with something around the idea of a "heart" that was much more luxe and not so "Ed Hardy" as you say. Madonna for Louis Vuitton - now let's see what they do together :) www.palacinka.com twitter: palacinkabeauty

I watched the 'commercial'. All I can think of to say is, "Are you serious?" In the beginning I thought she was about to sing! I can't quite understand how having her sitting unstably on a hoop and attempting to model would make a good ad. Who even let them make it?
