We love our WLB Stylemakers and we are always so thrilled to see our friends be recognized for their incredible talents. In the April issue of ELLE Magazine featuring Natalie Portman on the cover (you may have remembered that Mark Townsend did her casual chic do) our gorgeous Brit Beauty Maker, Kate Lee and the brilliant and adorable Mark Townsend were named Beauty Geniuses in 2008.

Calling Kate the "Star Sculptor," Elle loves Ms. Lee for her ability to shape a face. Here are Kate's quotes:

SPECIALTY:
"The neutral shades in my kit are my miracle workers- they enhance what someone already has," says LA based Lee, Chanel's celebrity makeup artist and Keira Knightly's top face saver. "For example, a lip-color liner can easily fake a balanced, full mouth."

 

SECRET WEAPON:
To make mineral powder foundations look "creamy, not matte," Lee dusts the product on, then goes over the color with a damp brush.

 

QUICK FIX:
For the illusion of perfect bone structure, Lee sweeps pinkish-brown blush under cheekbones and "white, slightly sparkly" powder above them.

Elle recognizes Mark Townsend as the bi-coastal fringe master for his constant jet-setting and his famous sheer work, creating award worthy bangs on all of his celebrity clientele.

 

SPECIALTY:
Townsend shuttles between LA and NYC to tend to the lengthy strands of clients including Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Connelly, and Amy Adams.

SECET WEAPON:
"Mandatory" protein-rich shampoos and conditioning masks keep hair shafts moisturized and healthy. "Don't grow hair past the middle of your back," he says. "Any longer and it's too heavy to wear up or hold a curl."

 

QUICK FIX:
"Bangs are an easy update," says the man who gave Witherspoon her transformative fringe. "Let them fall just to the brow."
